Steve Simon headed from Indian Wells to be CEO of WTA - The Desert Sun

Last December, Steve Simon helped initiate talks with Serena Williams and former Women’s Tennis Association chief executive Stacey Allaster about the possibility of Williams returning to the Indian Wells Masters tournament after a 14-year boycott.

Her eventual return to the 2015 tournament brought close to half a million spectators to the two-week event in the Coachella Valley.
