Plein Air Painters of the Mid-Atlantic opening reception set Oct. 31 in Dover

A new art exhibit, 2015 Group Exhibition of the Plein Air Painters of the Mid-Atlantic, will be held at the South Gallery of Delaware Agricultural Museum and Village in Dover. The exhibit runs Saturday, Oct. 31 to Wednesday, Jan. 6. An opening reception will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31, with free museum admission.

The exhibit represents art produced at plein air painting sessions at 24 sites throughout New Castle, Kent and Sussex counties, and sites in Maryland. Each Wednesday, April through October, artists from throughout Delaware create paintings at scheduled locations. Painting sites include Delaware State Parks, Delaware cultural and historical sites, gardens, various town parks, arboretums, ponds, lakes, historic main streets, preserves, marinas, inland bays and rivers. This exhibit includes paintings produced at Mt. Cuba Center to Indian River Inlet, Burtons Island and west to historic Chestertown, Md.
