Storms and high tides unearth a prehistoric marvel on coast of North Carolina - PerfScience

A prehistoric marvel has been unearthed by recent storms and high tides on the coast of North Carolina. NBC-affiliate WITN first reported that beachgoers have plucked fossilized shark teeth, some of the size of an adult hand, from the sand in North Topsail Beach and Surf City, North Carolina.

The teeth are huge and very old. According to researchers the teeth once belonged to a Megalodon, which is the largest shark ever existed, and it went extinct nearly 2.6 million years ago.
