Buzzfeed, Vox threaten to boycott SXSW after Gamergate panels canceled - Chron.com

AUSTIN - Soon after SXSW Interactive organizers canceled two Gamergate panels because of security threats, they're now getting a warning of another nature - this time from leaders at Buzzfeed and Vox Media, who say their organizations will pull out of the event if the panels aren't reinstated.

"We will feel compelled to withdraw them if the conference can't find a way to do what those other targets of harassment do every day — to carry on important conversations in the face of harassment," President of BuzzFeed Motion Pictures Ze Frank, BuzzFeed Publisher Dao Nguyen, and BuzzFeed Editor-in-Chief Ben Smith wrote Tuesday.
