Gaoshan Ethnic Minority is an ethnic group inhabiting Taiwan. The Gaoshan are the aborigines of Taiwan, mainly living in mountainous areas, flat valleys on the east coast of Taiwan Island and the Isle of Lanyu in Taiwan. Due to the difference in regions and languages, Gaoshan ethnic Minority is also divided into 13 subgroups, including Amei, Taiya, Paiwan, Lukai, Beinan, Caoren, Saixia and Dawu.
