Shahrukh Khan, popularly known by his initials SRK, is an Indian film actor, producer and television personality, who is often referred to as "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Bollywood" or "King Khan." Here are 30 interesting facts about the actor:
- For his role as Ashoka in the 2001 movie “Ashoka The Great,” which was his first movie to be released for international audience, SRK along with Kareena Kapoor, underwent intense training in sword fighting.
- During the filming of his most popular song “Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya," from the movie “Dil Se..,” he did not use a safety harness, while shooting the sequence aboard the moving train. The said song is the opening song of the 2006 Hollywood movie “Inside Man” starring Denzel Washington and Clive Owen.
- It is said that Khan agreed to play the role of Raj Aryan in the movie “Mohabbatein,” directed by Aditya Chopra, without even looking at the script first.
- The entire song of “Haule Haule,” from the movie “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi,” was shot in three takes, though while the filming, he improvised most of his dance moves. He claims the song to be one of his most relaxing songs ever shot, even while wearing the wig and moustache.
- He was detained at customs in the United States, during the publicity outing for his movie “My Name is Khan,” for over an hour. Initially, people thought it was just a PR stunt, but when it was clear that he was detained for other reasons, the film’s producers were furious.
