Dave Matthews Band, popularly known as DMB, an American rock band formed in 1991, has been the only rock band to have six consecutive studio albums debut at #1 on the Billboard chart. Here are 30 fascinating facts about the band:
- The band was formed by David John Matthewin 1991, who was working as bartender at Millar’s bar in Charlottesville, Virginia.
- The band’s founding group consists of Stefan Lessard, in the drums, Carter Beauford, as backing vocalist, LeRoi Moore, in the saxophonist and the violinist, Boyd Tinsley apart from David Matthews.
- The album ‘Away From the World,’ released on September 12, 2012, is the eighth studio album by the group. It is the only group to have six consecutive studio albums at number one on the Billboard charts on its debut.
- On the insistence of his lawyer friend Ross Hoffman, Matthew approached Carter Beauford and LeRoi Moore with his songs, for they were not the best but they played from their heart. They had their regular practice in the basement of Beauford’s and Matthew’s mother’s home.
