Jordan Alexander Spieth, an American professional Golfer, the 2015 FedEx Cup Champion, was the former world number one in the Official World Golf Ranking. Here are 30 unknown facts about the golfer:

  1. Spieth is named by Time magazine in April 2016, to be one of the 100 most influential people. He is everything what our heroes are meant to look like on and off the field.
  2. He was born on July 27, 1993, in Dallas, Texas to Shawn Spieth and Mary Christine of German descent. He is the eldest of three children to his parents.
  3. Spieth’s greatness in golf can be traced to his athletic family. His father played baseball at Leheigh University, his mother played basketball at Moravian College and his younger brother Steven is a basketball player at Brown University.
  4. He played baseball before giving it up for golf at the age of 12. He was coached by former golf pro Cameron McCormick at Brookhaven County Club.
  5. He attended St. Monica Catholic School and graduated from Jesuit College Preparatory School. While at Jesuit College, he was invited to play in the PGA’s Tour HP Byron Nelson Championship and finished 16th.
  6. Spieth along with Tiger Wood are the only two to have won the U.S Junior Amateur Golf Championship multiple times. He won it in 2009 and 2011.
  7. The ‘American Junior Golf Association’ awarded him as ‘All-Time Rolex Junior Player of the Year 2009’ and he went on to ranked number 1 in 2011 by the AJGA Golf ranking.
  8. He represented University of Texas in golf and helped them to win the NCAA Championship. He was named freshman and player of the year with a place in the first team All-American.
