Broderick Stephen "Steve" Harvey, world renowned as a comedian, radio personality, television host, actor, producer and author, has a new series titled "Steve," set to premiere in September 2017 with emphasis on celebrities and pop culture. Here are some facts about the American comedian:

  1. Harvey started as a stand-up comedian who hosted television and radio shows. He is five-time Daytime Emmy Award winner and 14 time NAACP image award winner.
  2. He was born on January 17, 1957, in Welch, West Virginia to Jesse Harvey, a coal miner and Eloise Vera a homemaker.
  3. He was christened Broderick Stephen Harvey, taking after the name of actor Broderick Crawford. He has three siblings, a brother Terry Harvey and two sisters, Pauline Harvey and Mona Harvey.
  4. The family moved to Cleveland when Harvey was four years and his father switched to construction. He values the work ethic his father taught and faith from his mother.
