Angelique Kerber, a former world No. 1 and winner of three Grand Slam tournaments, is immensely popular for her counter-punching all-court game. As of February 2019, she is ranked world No. 6. Here are some very interesting facts about the German professional tennis player:
- She was born on January 18, 1988, in Bremen, West Germany, to polish parents Beata and Slawomir Kerber. Shehas a sister, Jessica, and holds dual,German and Polish citizenship.
- Kerber who is right-handed but plays left-handed started to play tennis at the age of three. She is an out-and-out defender, and relies primarily on her speed, anticipation and footwork to win matches.
