Ryan Tannehill, who finished the 2018 season with 1,979 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, and nine interceptions, is currently the quarterback for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League. Here are some interesting facts about the American footballer:
- He was born Ryan Timothy Tannehill III, on July 27, 1988, in Lubbock, Texas, U.S, to Cheryl and Tim Tannehill, the Assistant Principal at Big Spring High School.
- Tannehill attended Big Spring High School, Texas where he played for his high school football team. After graduating, he joined the Texas A&M University and played for the Aggies football team.
- Even as football talent he was good at basketball and on the track and field. He competed in the hurdling and jumping events at the 2006 District 4-4A Championships and was placed third in the 300m hurdles and second in the triple jump event.
- As a defensive back in his sophomore year at Big Spring, he saw action in 10 games. In his junior year he was the starting quarterback; he passed for 2,510 yards and rushed for 922 yards.
- As a senior, he passed for 5,258 yards and rushing for 617, in taking his team to the playoffs. He also posted three receptions for 62 yards and compiled a 39.2 punt average with a long of 84 yards. As a three star recruit, he received second-team district 4-4A honors for both the year.
- After being redshirted in 2007, at Texas A&M, he played as wide receiver in 2008 and 2009 seasons. During 2008 season he broke the freshman school record with 210 yards 12 catches.
