Chris Bosh, the most famous high school "Mr. Basketball," had the Miami Heat retire his no. 1 jersey in a ceremony on March 26, 2019. In his entire career, he had spent around 7 years with the Toronto Raptors and 7 years with the Miami Heat, followed by his comeback attempts and retirement. Here are some really interesting things to know about the American former professional basketball player:
- He was born Christopher Wesson Bosh on March 24, 1984, in Dallas, Texas, to Noel, a plumbing engineer and Freida, a system analyst. He has a younger brother, Joel.
- Bosh attended Lincoln High School, Dallas, and graduated with honors. He played baseball and basketball under coach Leonard Bishop.
- Heled his school to number one ranking in the country and the USA Today National Championship with perfect 40-0 record.
- With 23 points, 17 rebound, and nine blocks, Bosh, led his school to Class 4A state title and was named High School Player of the Year by Basketball America. He was declared ‘Mr. Basketball’ in Texas by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.
- He joined George Tech to study graphic design and computer imaging. With professional aspiration to play basketball, Bosh felt under Coach Paul Hewitt, at George Tech, his best interest will be served.
- As a freshman he led Yellow Jackets in averaging 15.6 points, 9 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks in 31 games, to lead Atlantic Coast Conference in field goals percentage. He was the only freshman apart from Antawn Jamison ever to do so.

- On July 30, 2014, he renewed his contract with Heat on afive years deal worth $118 million, but his season was cut shot after he was diagnosed with blood clot in one of his lungs on February 21, 2015. He had earlier lost eight games due to calf strain.
- A blood clot in his leg again forced Bosh to sit out the rest of second half of 2015-16, season because of the potential dangers of the recurring medical condition. He hasn’t played since February 9, but has been cheering his team from the bench.
- After Bosh failed his physical test in September 2016, the NBA ruled that Bosh’s blood clotting issues were a career ending illness. On July 04, 2017, Heat ended Bosh seven year stints with the organization and out of respect they retired his jersey No.1, on February 04, 2019 with it his career.
