- Brown was ranked as one among the 100 Most Influential People in the World, by Time magazine, on April 20, 2018, making her the youngest person to be included in the list, in Time's history.
- The same year, she was also ranked as one of the Hollywood's top thirty stars under age eighteen by The Hollywood Reporter.
- The Duffer brothers – Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, in an interview with NPR, praised Brown to be precociously gifted actor, recalling how well she could adjust her performances in various scenes, according to the different lens and camera positions, which is a trait that most child actors lack.
- On November 20, 2018, she became the Goodwill Ambassador for Unicef, at the very young age of 14. With this, she became the youngest person in history to be appointed for the position.
