Dinah Jane, the youngest member of the world famous girl group Fifth Harmony, has made her mark in the music industry with her powerful and dynamic voice. She started singing to impress her mother who performed in a reggae band, and often joined her brothers to sing in the church. Here are some interesting facts about the singer that will make you love her more:

  1.  Her debut solo EP “Dinah Jane 1” was announced to be released on April 19, 2019. The same day, she released the song "Heard It All Before", followed by its music video.
  2.  Jane officially released "Retrograde" for digital download and streaming in May 2019, followed by "SZNS" featuring A Boogie wit da Hoodie in July 2019.
  3.  After a first few headline shows in 2019, she announced a solo tour titled the Dinah Jane World Tour, scheduled to begin in April 2020 in Arizona.
  4.  Along with her tour announcement, she also announced a new single titled “Missed a Spot,” which was to be released on February 14, 2020.
  5.  However, the release date was pushed back and Jane released two promotional singles titled "Lottery" and "1501" weeks later.
  6.  Dinah Jane Milika Ilaisaane Hansen was born on June 22, 1997 to Gorden Hansen and Milika Amasio in Santa Ana, California.
  7.  She is the eldest of 8 children in the family. She grew up with over 24 family members in her home in Santa Ana.
  8.  Born in a musical family, she was introduced to music at the very young age of 4. She even started performing in public singing the national anthem for the first time, at the age of 7.
  9.  Jane is a Mormon, and is said to be of Tongan, Samoan, Fijian, and Danish descent from both her parents’ side. She is also fluent in Tongan and Samoan.
  10.  She also sang at local events in Orange County. In 2011, she recorded her first song "Dancing Like a White Girl."

  12.  In the year 2012, she auditioned for “The X Factor,” singing “If I Were a Boy” by Beyoncé. She sang “Hero” by Mariah Carey for her bootcamp solo performance.
  13.  In fact, she is the only member from the Fifth Harmony girl group to have her bootcamp solo performance aired.
  14.  But, in her bootcamp round against Diamond White, she sang "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" during which she forgot some of the lyrics.
  15.  It was said that she had the potential and could have even made it to the finals as a solo artist, if she had not forgotten the lyrics.
  16.  Although she was eliminated from the competition, she was brought back along with Ally Brooke, Normani, Lauren Jauregui, and Camila Cabello to form a girl group.
  17.  The girl group came to be known as Fifth Harmony, and successfully made it to the finals, finally landing in third place.
  18.  In the year 2015, she graduated from Orange County School of the Arts, located in the downtown Santa Ana, California.
  19.  The same year, Jane auditioned to play the role of the main character in the animated film “Moana,” which eventually went to AuliÊ»i Cravalho.
  20.  She was included on the list of most promising entertainers, on an article on the faces of future Asian and Pacific history on Fuse’s website, in 2017.
  21.  The same year, she was featured in RedOne's song "Boom Boom" along with Daddy Yankee and French Montana, which was released in October.
  22.  She sang the Tongan national anthem "Ko e fasi Ê»o e tuÊ»i Ê»o e Ê»Otu Tonga" at the 2017 Rugby League World Cup semi-final game in November 2017.

  24.  Jane, in collaboration with singer Leona Lewis, sang a Christmas medley, which was released in December 2017.
  25.  She announced that she had signed a solo record deal with Hitco Entertainment, founded by L.A. Reid and Charles Goldstuck in August 2018.
  26.  She released her debut solo single "Bottled Up" featuring Ty Dolla Sign and Marc E. Bassy, along with its lyric video, on September 21, 2018.
  27.  She released the song's music video and performed the single on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in October 2018.
  28.  He performed two new songs "Retrograde" and "I Don't Mind" at the Jingle Bash on December 3, 2018. She released the music video to the song on March 26, 2019.
  29.  In a particular video on Snapchat, she used the word “gay” as a sarcastic comment, referring to a group of people sitting next to her as “so cute, so gay.”
