28 years for salmonella: Peanut exec gets groundbreaking sentence - fox6now.com

ALBANY, Georgia — Stewart Parnell once boasted processing the “finest” peanut products. On Monday he was sentenced to nearly three decades in prison for knowingly shipping deadly peanut butter paste.

A federal judge sentenced Parnell, 61, to 28 years behind bars. It is believed to be the toughest penalty ever for a corporate executive in a food poisoning outbreak.
