Google Adds Unsubscribe & Block Sender Features To Android App - Android Headlines - Android News
Google apps are always seeing a ton of updates and new features being added over their lifespan. In fact, these are often the most updated apps on the Play Store. It was only yesterday when the latest app update came through from Google and included an update to the Clock app. That said, the Clock app is by far not the most commonly updated app from Google. Unlike the likes of the Gmail app which see a number of updates coming through on a very regular basis.
Speaking of which, Gmail is seeing a new update land with a new feature being added and this is an interesting one. The update adds a feature that many have likely been waiting for Google to introduce and it is the ability to block emails from specific addresses. Whether it is spam related content or just emails from a certain sender that need to be blocked, starting today, Google is implementing the feature. To access the feature from the app, the user simply needs to hit the menu icon in the top right corner and then they will be able to select the block user action. From then on, all emails from that sender will be automatically redirected to the spam folder in your Gmail account. Although, it is probably worth pointing out that Google also notes if you block someone by accident, you can just as easily unblock them by heading to the settings. As an extension of this, Google has also announced that they are also including an unsubscribe option for emails directly from within the Gmail app. Giving users the ability to easily distance themselves from any newsletters or repeat emails they no longer wish to receive
