Lizards blow past Panthers in first half, win 69-35

DARDANELLE — The Clarksville Panthers opened Friday night’s nonconference game against the host Sand Lizards with an onside kick and a stunning 7-0 lead.

But when Elyas Carter hit Chris Kershner on a 42-yard touchdown pass with :08 to go in the second quarter and gave Dardanelle 69 — and no, that is NOT a typo — first-half points compared to 21 for Clarksville, the Panthers’ early lead was pretty much a thing of the past.
