Hospital Utilization Short of Budget

Citizens of Ashley County are not being hospitalized as much as projected for the current fiscal year, according to the monthly report about usage figures for the Ashley County Medical Center. The report was presented to the Ashley County Quorum Court during its meeting on Aug. 11.

The report showed that acute admissions for the month ending June 30 were 68, well below the 104 predicted in the budget for the month. For the fiscal year, the hospital’s budget projected 829 acute admissions, but the actual number is 705.
