Birch tree leaves in a forest in Ergun, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, have turned golden, reflecting the warmth of the autumn sunshine. In pursuit of autumn scenes across China, CRI reporters paid a visit to Ergun's forests and grasslands. The city is home to 70 million square kilometers of birch trees, some of them standing nearly 30 meters tall. The birch trees, with their gray-white bark and straight trunks, provide top-quality timber.
