Thursday night's high school roundup

Lake Minneola shut out East River on Thursday 25-6, 25-8, 25-17. The Hawks were led by Maddy Damon, who had six kills, three aces and three digs. East Rivers’ Shelby McCulley had five kills and eight digs. Lake Minneola is now 7-2 and will be playing East Ridge on Tuesday at home.

First Academy of Leesburg swept Tavares 25-11, 25-9, 25-17 on Thursday. Tori Gause had eight kills and eight digs. Hailey Franklin and Shayla Nicholson each had four kills. The Eagles will have their next game on Monday at 7:30 at St. Johns Academy.
