GetOut Weekend: Pumpkin patches, Mariachi bands, and bikes

This show will take you on a vibrant journey of the music and traditional dances of Mexico featuring folkloric dancers and two popular Mariachi ensembles. Under the leadership of Vanessa Ramirez, Ballet Folklorico Quetzalli-AZ and Jose Soto with Tradiciones Dance Co. will celebrate the colorful tradition of Mexican folkloric dance. Joining them will be Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar led by Jimmy El Pollo Cuéllar, son of Jaime Cuéllar. Mariachi Sonido de Mexico directed by Andrea Gallegos will be joining the festival from Tucson.

It’s back! The events kick off with a costumed bicycle parade that winds through city streets, ending in a city park. That’s when eclectic entertainment takes over from musical acts to yo-yo performers, bike contests, and even vaudeville acts. Tour de Fat celebrates the power of the bike by encouraging everyone to embrace their inner-cyclist and ride the streets as a rolling carnival of creativity.
