Eagles edge Elwood to reach tennis semifinals

ANDERSON — After quickly taking the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches Wednesday, the Frankton boys tennis team was in good shape to advance in the opening round of the sectional at the Highland Middle School courts. Once the No. 3 singles win was complete, the Eagles had the match in hand. But as it turned out, they would need all three of the singles victories to put away Elwood 3-2.

The two teams also squared off Monday with Frankton winning a 5-0 decision including a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles.
