Science teacher uses art to teach lab safety

OTTUMWA — Just because Ottumwa High School is in the middle of Homecoming Week does not mean the learning has stopped, but one teacher is putting a new twist on a old lesson.

Lab safety is one of the first things that students are taught when they start taking chemistry classes. This usually means watching a video or reading a manual, but for teacher Kevin McGinity, this means to tie-dye.
