Cook bill would create national park, expand Johnson Valley OHV area

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Paul Cook, from Yucca Valley, introduced his own desert conservation, mining and recreation bill Thursday in the House of Representatives.

The California Minerals, Off-Road Recreation and Conservation Act would add land to the Johnson Valley off-roading area and give several other places in the Morongo Basin added government protection.
