Seaford Chamber hosts Western Sussex County FAM tour

The town of Woodland, along the Nanticoke River, is the home of the Woodland Ferry. The byway extends along several roads in western Sussex County, from the exit for Route 20 to Bridgeville Road on US 13, passing through Seaford, Bethel and Laurel, then ending at the Trap Pond State Park. This Byway also crosses the Nanticoke River through the historic Woodland Ferry.

The Greater Seaford Chamber of Commerce hosted a Western Sussex County FAM (familiarization) tour of the Nanticoke Heritage Byway Sept 11-12. The tour highlighted the intrinsic resources of found along the Nanticoke Heritage Byway Corridor. The six intrinsic qualities as defined by the National Scenic Byways Program are Cultural, Historic, Archeological, Recreational, Natural, and Scenic. The byway extends along several roads in western Sussex County, from the exit for Route 20 to Bridgeville Road on US 13, passing through Seaford, Bethel and Laurel, then ending at Trap Pond State Park.
