1. Her full name is Jennifer Lynn Lopez and she was born in the Bronx, NY, on July 24, 1969. Grew up on Blackrock Avenue.

2. Her father is a computer specialist and her mother is a kindergarten teacher.

3. She began taking singing and dancing lessons when she was 5 years old.

4. Jennifer attended an all-girl schools, graduating from the Bronx's Preston High School.

5. Jennifer moved to Manhattan to learn how to dance and would sleep in the studio where she was practicing.

6. One of her first gigs was in Japan where she was a dancer in the musical Synchronicity.
