Brian Littrell, famously known as a member of Backstreet Boys band, is an American singer, songwriter and actor, who other than his musical career, has made a name for himself, for his charitable activities. Over his long successful career, he had also ventured into different other businesses, while still being the heartthrob that millions of BSB fans are crazy for. In fact, his solo ventures were also well received by the audience, like his solo single “In Christ Alone” released in the summer of 2005, went on to become #1 on the Christian charts..   1.  Littrell was inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame on April 10, 2015, along with his cousin and fellow band member Kevin Richardson.
  2.  In the year 2000, he was listed as one among the “25 Hottest People Under 25,” tying with Justin Timberlake of rival band *NSYNC, in the list from Teen People.
  3.  He, along with songwriters Don Koch and Shawn Craig, won a Dove Award for Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year, for his “In Christ Alone,” in the year 2008.
  4.  Littrell established the Littrell Healthy Heart Club, a non-profit organization, which focuses on assisting children with heart conditions through medical, financial as well as practical help.
  5.  The single “Welcome Home (You)” reached #2 on the US Christian AC Charts, and stayed at #1 on Reach FM’s Top 40 chart, as well as the US R&R Christian Inspirational charts for 3 weeks.
  6.  Brian Thomas Littrell was born on February 20, 1975 to Harold Baker Littrell, Jr., and Jacqueline “Jackie” R., in Lexington, Kentucky. He has an older brother named Harold.

  12.  However, with his height of 5 feet 7 inches, he struggled a lot, and seldom selected for high school tournaments or any other matches.
  13.  Littrell sang his very first solo at the young age of 7, in the Porter Memorial Baptist Church, growing up in a religious Baptist family. He was once even voted as the President of the Youth Chorus by his peers.
  14.  He started performing at weddings and other social events, at the age of 16, when his choir teacher – Barry Turner, at Tate Creek High School, suggested it as an idea to make money with his talent.
  15.  Around the same time, he tried his hand in multiple jobs, like working at a fast food chain Long John Silver’s to make money. He even worked in a hospital for mentally ill and disabled people.
  16.  He had inspirations to become a music minister at that time. But, in April 1993, when he was attending a history class at Tates Creek, his cousin Richardson called him out and informed him about an audition for a fifth member of BSB.
  17.  The very next day, Littrell flew to Orlando, and then completed his high school via correspondence, graduating in the year 1994.
  18.  In the year 2019, a DNA heritage test revealed Littrell's ancestry to be 90.1% British Isles (70.1% Irish/Scottish/Welsh), plus 7.1% Finnish and 2.1% Scandinavian.
  19.  His heart condition led to his heart enlarging considerably in November 1997, following which he underwent open heart surgery on May 8, 1998.
  20.  In the year 2011, he was diagnosed with vocal tension dysphonia and dystonia, for which he is working with a therapist to improve his condition.

  23.  He signed a solo deal with Reunion Records in the year 2004, and released the solo album “Welcome Home” the next year.
  24.  The album which reached #74 on the Billboard 200 charts, debuted at #3 on the Christian album charts, selling over 100,000 copies in the United States.
  25.  He was infected with swine flu in October 2009, which led to the cancellation of the Backstreet Boys “This Is Us” promotional tour, supporting the seventh studio album of the band.
  26.  He, along with his bandmate AJ McLean, made guest appearance in the 2001 Ken Hastings’ romantic comedy “Olive Juice,” which featured his wife Leighanne Littrell.
