A few years back, two professors at Beloit College in Wisconsin started what is now an annual tradition, the Mindset List. You’ve surely seen it: a list of facts that explain the limits of the world as seen by students entering college in a particular year.
This year’s 18-year-old freshmen, for example, have never licked a stamp, only know Princess Diana as a historical figure and generally don’t remember 9/11.
