January 7Full TextLucille Ganter Billings, 90, of Hamburg died Saturday, January 3, 2015, at the Ashley County Medical Center. She was a native of El Dorado, a homemaker, and a member of Free Union A. M. E. Church in El Dorado. She loved attending church and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Billings is survived by two daughters, Delois and Billie Pippen of Hamburg and Lois Jean Billings of Lorain, OH; seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lennis Billings; one son, Lennis Billings, Jr.; her parents, Albert and Marylizer Brock Ganter; three brothers, A. C. Ganter, Eaff Ganter and Hosea Ganter; and four sisters, Anne Lee Ganter Cargile, Alice Ganter Harris, Mary Lee Ganter and Almera Ganter White.Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 10, at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Revs. Charles Lovett and Willie R. Taylor officiating. Pallbearers are Dennis Billings, James B. Billings, Reggie Billings, Vannie Billings, Cedric Pippen and Carl Pippen. Burial will follow services in Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral on Saturday morning at Mt. Zion Baptist. Guest book at www.cromwellfuneralhome.net Will Howard Blakely, Jr., 66, of Crossett died Friday, January 2, 2015, at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Crossett, retired from Georgia Pacific's plywood mill, and was a Baptist. He enjoyed playing cards and dominos, loved to barbecue and also loved watching football, especially his favorite team, the New Orleans Saints. He is survived by one son, Charles Bryant and Fristanna of Crossett; one daughter, Pam and Anthony Jarrett of Little Rock; one brother, Luther Ray Blakely of Crossett; one sister, Mittle Ree Hawkins of Crossett; six grandchildren, Chauncey Olive, Antonio Jarrett, DeUndre Bryant, Chance Rogers, Malik Bryant and LaJada Cooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
