Native of Ozark receives $20,000 UAMS scholarship

LITTLE ROCK —The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has awarded local student a $20,000 scholarship funded by Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield Primary Care Scholarship to encourage aspiring physicians to pursue primary care practices in Arkansas.

Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, the state’s largest insurer, made these scholarships possible with a $1 million gift in 2010 to the UAMS Foundation Fund to establish the endowed scholarship.
