Kim Zolciak, 37, suffered a mini-stroke after returning home to Atlanta after her Sept. 22 Dancing With The Stars performance. She’d already tweeted about painful feet from rehearsals before the competition began, but her scary situation following the show caused her to lose all feeling on the left side of her body, and she was temporary left unable to speak. She joins a growing list of celebrities who have brutally suffered for the sake of ballroom dancing.
Back problems have plagued contestants over the years. In season 18, Billy Dee Williams, 78, announced on air that he would be withdrawing from the competition due to chronic back pain. The same condition forced Olympic ice skating champ Dorothy Hamill, 59, to withdraw after the second show of season 16 on the advice of her spine surgeon that she could suffer irreparable nerve damage if she stayed in the competition.
