Providing more challenging programming for high potential learners to meet today’s changing student academic needs can be a challenge itself, but it is a challenge the Tri-County Special Education cooperative decided to accept.
“A couple of years ago, we began to explore what the true needs were for students. We felt we needed to do a better job providing a challenging curriculum extension and make it much more rigorous. These students have those abilities to achieve and need the challenges,” Tri-County director Julie Bruington said. “We put together a task force and looked for options. We decided what we were most interested in was providing gifted students with real world experiences.”
