Coca-Cola (NYSE:KO) and PepsiCo (NYSE:PEP) are constantly compared to each other, despite Pepsi's slightly different, snack-related business model. The market current values both companies at similar levels as well -- roughly 22 times trailing earnings and 18-19 times forward earnings.
I'd like to move past earnings, however, and analyze both companies based on profitability ratios and free cash flow. I think the case for Coca-Cola over Pepsi can be made, especially when taking other factors into consideration besides just EPS and revenues.
