Eustis blanks Poinciana, 61-0

The Eustis Panthers delivered a big homecoming victory at the Panther Den Friday night converting on five first-half turnovers by the Poinciana Eagles (0-4, 0-3) in route to a 55-0 lead at halftime. Playing with a running clock in the second half, the Panthers were able to secure a shutout victory 61-0, overcoming several game miscues that gave the Eagles hope of putting points on the scoreboard only to suffer key interceptions by Panthers Gentrevis Reliford and Billy Brett.

The Eagles' initial possession looked promising for the visitors as they marched to midfield before stalling and punting, giving Eustis its first set of downs at its own 15-yard line. The Panthers promptly drove the length of the field on eight plays, all rushing, before Dre Dyer capped the drive with successive runs for the initial 7-0 lead after Benito Baca’s kick.
